Questions
Everything people ask before they start.
If your question isn't here, send it to us and we will answer it properly.
Writing quality
- Is the writing original?
- Yes. Every book is written fresh from your brief. Nothing is copied from existing works, and the same brief written twice produces two different books.
- Will it stay consistent across chapters?
- Each chapter is written with a factual summary of everything before it, so names, timeline, voice and established details carry through the whole book.
- Can I change something I don't like?
- Every chapter is fully editable, and you can ask for a rewrite, a shorter version or an expanded version of any chapter.
Ownership and privacy
- Who owns the finished book?
- You do. Print it, sell it, publish it or keep it in the family — the decision is entirely yours.
- Where are my drafts stored?
- If you write as a guest, drafts stay in your browser only. If you sign in, they are stored privately in your account and are visible only to you.
- Can I delete everything?
- Yes. You can delete individual books at any time, and closing your account removes your books with it.
Limits and cost
- What does the free trial include?
- A daily writing allowance, the full editing workspace, and PDF and Markdown export, with no sign-up required.
- Why is the allowance measured in words?
- Because words are what cost money to produce. A long book is genuinely more work than a short one, so the limit follows length rather than counting books.
- Are payments active?
- Not yet. Paid plans are shown so you can see what is coming, but nothing can be purchased today.
Covers and exports
- Do I have to generate a cover?
- No. Covers are optional, and they cost more to produce than prose, so they are only made when you ask for one.
- What formats can I download?
- PDF for printing and sharing, and Markdown or plain text for moving your manuscript into any other tool.
